About Tahoe House Hotel

The Tahoe House Hotel has been lovingly restored to its original 19th century splendor. Built in 1859, in the heart of bustling Virginia City, the Hotel served as a kind of oasis for visitors - including a young Sam Clemens before he became Mark Twain.

We serve some great coffee, tea, hot chocolate and juice in the morning with a choice of cerials, muffins, and fresh fruit. We'll also pour you a glass of wine or open a beer for you at night. If you're lucky, Squeek, our world-famous piano player, will enchant you with some honky-tonk piano playing and Mark Twain (McAvoy Lane) may be seen wandering our halls at times.
